Heart of Dixie
I placed 2nd in the Heart of Dixie open figure tall class! I am very happy with the placing! Talked to the judges at the end of the show and they informed that I was very close to placing first. They told me to work on my quad sweep. Came in a little to hard, however I had great shape, great back, great upper body. I am gonna add some much needed great size! Can't wait to get back in the gym and work on my temple! It was pretty funny they told me to eat a cheese burger before the show or a few bags of chips! It was a great experience and I am proud of myself for my second show!

Thanksgiving Goodness
Today has been a wonderful day! A late start with cooking; however its cool with me because I am spending my day with the most amazing man in the world. We have been cooking thanksgiving dinner together and it has been most amazing. I got me a good man! Lots of Thanksgiving Goodness! It is also my first time preparing a Thanksgiving meal. Usually my family prepares all the food and then I just sit down and enjoy it. It's a lot that goes into preparing the meal. I had no idea. I actually like cooking now because I never did, except for chix and broccoli and salads of course. I made collard greens for the first time and homemade macaroni and cheese. I hope the collards turn out good. Jeff tasted them and said they were good. It is his first time having collard greens! So the Thanksgiving meal consists of Turkey, home made stuffing, collard greens, homemade macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, cornbread, deviled eggs, cheesecake, and sweet potato pie. So good!

Kids in trees, kids climbing tents, kids running away, almost group on group riot, kids makin boobie traps in campsite, pine cone/dirt/rocks and stick war; with a kid in the tree, a kid filling the the burn barrel up with water; the same kid dropping the F-bomb to the beat of eye of the tiger at the top of his lungs, a week of packing out, hat making, and laughing till my stomach hurts, my favorite one at the time is my kids singing "I'm about to go buck, buck, buck; Im about to go buck...., oh yea and bedtime stories after 5 down.

A chief in the woods! Working for Eckerd Youth Altenatives at Camp E-Ma-Chamee
What is a Chief?
Somewhere between adolescence and corporate mogul there occurs in human development the age that is physically and psychologically impossible. It is that unfathomable state know as "Chief, a creature undefined by psychologists, misunderstood by directors, worshipped by campers (whether they admit it or not), admired by parents and unheard of by the rest of society.
A Chief is a rare combination of doctor, lawyer, parents and friend. Chief is a competent child psychologists with textbooks as proof. They are at times under-paid baby-sitter with neither television or refrigerator. They are strict disciplinarians with kids gloves, a minister of man to all faiths with questions about their own. Chief is a referee, coach. teacher and advisor. They are an example of adulthood in worn out boots, a shirt given them and rain gear that just happens to be on someone else. They are humorists in a crisis, a song leader, entertainer and skit directors. They are teacher of the out-of-doors, knee deep in poison ivy.
They dislike wake up, audits and rainy days. They are extremely fond of sunbathing, exploring, playing guitar, and old care named Gertrude and time off. They are good at patching up broken friendships, bloody noses and torn backpacks. Good also at locating lost clothes, fixing broken tools and catching fish. Poor at getting out of bed after a long night, remembering condiments and paperwork.
A chief is a friendly guide on a day trip. They are "all that" on time off. Exhausted when they return but fully recuperated in time for the next TO.
Who but Chief can cure homesickness, air out a UB'd sleeping bag, play 16 games of Chinese numbers, carry two packs, speak igpay atinlay, stand on their head and eat four helpings of chili mac.
A chief is expected to repair 10 years of damage to Billy, turn Bubba into a man, allow Spike to be an individual and help Enos adjust to a group. They are expected to lead them in serious learning and in group games even when their head aches; to teach them to live in the out-of-doors, even though they were raised in metro areas such as Pittsburgh, to teach an indigenous activities, to ensure health and safety, with a sunburn, an ace bandage on their knee and a blister on their heel.
After all of this, they are paid enough to know what they can't afford. You wonder whether they know how much they are worth. And somehow all realize you could never pay them enough as there would never be agreement to their true value.

Nappy Hair
Nappy Naps! Embrace you the way you are! Love you 4 you!
Beauty coms from within. It is sparked by an inner strength and radiance that goes far beyond physical appearance. ~Janet Jackson
I came to this world with nappy hairAnd when I was too young to really careI loved to twirl each curl in my handAnd appreciate the texture of every strand. But when I got older I was toldThat the straightest hair was just like gold.My hair got ironed with a metal combAnd the smell of burning grease made me moan.I got a relaxer to run from the smoke,But the pain of my overcooked scalp was no joke.I even tried a Jheri curl to give myself a breakBut being a target of jokes made my heart ache.Oh, the day I turned my back on chemicals and heat,I felt so free - oh, what a treat!I trimmed off what was left of the damaged messAnd saw in the mirror what I thought was success. But society said I had lost my mindAnd that I would run back to tradition in time.I got the strangest looks everywhereAnd even loved ones frowned at my nappy hair.I can't get a black brother to take me out for a mealSince my hair lacks European appeal. But when I look at my origin,The continent of Africa, wher my ancestors had beenAnd the beauty of the people who live there,I saw nothing wrong with my nappy hair.God gave me this hairSo I should not be ashamedIt is part of who I amAin't nothin' wrong with it, I exclaimed. So I will wear my Afro, my twists and my coils!I will not allow my confidence to be soiled.Even if my hair is locked and dreaded,I am proud of being nappy-headed.

Graduation
April 30, 2005, I will graduate from Grand Valley State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice emphasis in Juvenile Justice. So what does this all mean. Does it mean I will be getting a real job in the real world. Wait, I thought I was already in the real world. I am not to worried about finding a job after graduation like many of friends have in the past and in the future. They run around like a chicken with their heads cut off worrying and stressing about finding a job. I have seen people worry themselves sick. Its just not healthy. If you want a job and cannot find it hear in Michigan, then take your Ass else where. There other fishes and opportunties in the Sea. You have to be willing to try something new.
DON'T WORRY IT WILL ALL WORK OUT IN THE END

Fitness is so key!
I think its get about that time. The time to compete in my first bodybuilding show. Almost two years since I have set my sights on the bodybuilding world in hopes to one day go pro and I am so ready to get up on that stage and show how hard I have worked. Let me tell you, it has not been easy. I fell of the wagon for a while but now I am back on and ready to go.
Today, on the way out after an awesome intense work out, I passed by a flyer for an upcoming bodybuilding show in Belding, MI. So I have a goal to meet, if I am ready by the first week of April I will enter. From here on out I will live and breathe the burn, pumping iron like no other, cardio like no other and strictly clean eating for the next how many ever weeks. Wish me luck, it is going to be a journey and I am ready to take it on. This is only the beginning!
Don't let the number one cause of death overtake you! Stop eating fast food! Read Fast Food Nation and I am sure you will stay away. Maybe not because bad foods, fast food and huge portion sizes will probably always dominate our social structure. My latest accomplishment is staying away from fast food, and it can be a challenge. Will power, Baby! I am even giving up Subway. That one was hard because I love it but its all good in the long run. You can by your own fresh bread even better yet bake it if you want and by your own deli meat cut just the way you want. Its also good to eat vegetarian style as well. You don't always have to eat meat. One day I will be a vegetarian again, seeing that I was a vegetarian for like four years. LIVESTRONG~STAY HEALTHY~BE ACTIVE~TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR BODY!

The N word
While writing a paper, I decided to check out Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary. I have been using Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary because it’s a quick access when checking the spellings of words instead of relying on Microsoft Word for spell check. Just yesterday I was listening to radio talk show and the topic was the N word. A lady called in and was discussing how the word is listed in the dictionary. So I thought I type the N word in the dictionary for myself to see what it actually says and the woman was right. In the Merriam-Webster Dictionary the N word is only referred to black people or a member of a dark skinned race. I thought I would be outraged but I'm not because I live in world where ignorant people still think like that and the fact that its in the dictionary that way just confirms how things really haven't changed. That was a really big run on sentence but you get my point. Here I was thinking the true definition of the N word was someone who is ignorant. I guess according to whoever wrote the Merriam-Webster Dictionary doesn't think so. Whats your thoughts?
Go ahead check the dictionary out for yourself. http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=Nigger
